Governance

We comply fully with the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of Public Character and relevant legislation and regulations. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability and believe that adopting the best governance practices will increase our effectiveness and instill public confidence in what we do.

BOARD GOVERNANCE

Ascending Hope Community Services is governed by a Board of Directors (the Board). Based on Ascending Hope Community Services’ Constitution, no Board member shall be paid any remuneration for their services, including services on any committee established by Ascending Hope Community Services, or hold any salaried office of Ascending Hope Community Services, or any office of Ascending Hope Community Services paid by fees. Accordingly, no Board member is paid any remuneration or fees, and no Board member is a staff of Ascending Hope Community Services.

Conflict of Interest

Ascending Hope Community Services has in place protocols and procedures to manage and avoid conflict of interest. A conflict of interest exists when a Ascending Hope Community Services committee member or employee has a responsibility for promoting Ascending Hope Community Services interest, but has a competing interest at the same time. When the committee member or employee exercises a competing interest over their fiduciary interest of Ascending Hope Community Services, a “conflict of interests” exists.

Data Protection and Privacy Policy

Ascending Hope Community Services is committed to ensuring that personal information is protected and managed in accordance with Singapore laws, international good practise and individuals’ rights. We collect and use personal information in order to help us offer individuals appropriate information on our programmes and initiatives.

Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorists

Ascending Hope Community Services has also sets out a checklist to identify potential suspicious activities which may indicate money laundering / financing of terrorists, to ensure due diligence when checking the sources of incoming funds.

Whistleblower Policy

Ascending Hope Community Services (AHCS) requires board members, employees and volunteers to observe high standards of business and personal ethics in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities. As employees and representatives of the Ascending Hope Community Service, we must practice honesty and integrity in fulfilling our responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

This Whistleblower Policy is intended to encourage and enable employees and others to raise serious concerns regarding inappropriate conduct and practices that they have observed taken place among the board members, officers, employees and volunteers that would affect the reputation and/or operations of the Society so that Ascending Hope Community Services can address and take corrective actions timely.  

 

It is the responsibility of all board members, officers, employees and volunteers to report concerns about violations of Ascending Hope Community Services’ code of ethics or suspected violations of law or regulations that govern Ascending Hope Community Services’.
